James Matthias LaLonde's Obituary
James Matthias LaLonde, age 69, of East China Twp., passed away July 15, 2021. He was born November 30, 1951 in Cadillac, Michigan to the late Joseph and Veronica LaLonde.
James was a longtime active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, OLR Parish, and the Knights of Columbus, Council #856, Marine City. He was also a proud member of the Holy Cross – Cardinal Mooney Alumni Assoc. He was a strong Marine City community supporter. James was an avid deer hunter and always looked forward to family gatherings, especially his trips to Mesick, Michigan, to make maple syrup on the family property.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn LaLonde; son, Joseph LaLonde (fiancé Samantha Griffin); siblings, Ann (Tom) Herrmann, Suzanne Larabell, JoAnn (Bill) Morandini, Timothy (Beatrice) LaLonde, Bernadette (Bruce) Tayler, Peggy (John) Vandenbossche, Dan (Cindy) LaLonde, John Paul (Milissa) LaLonde, Mary Bellore and Joseph (Julie) LaLonde; brother in law, Greg (Debbie) Nowowiecki and many nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy LaLonde; father in law and mother in law, Ed and Margaret Nowowiecki and brother in law, Larry Larabell.
Visitation will be Wednesday July 21st from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. On Thursday July 22nd visitation will be at Holy Cross Catholic Church, OLR Parish, Marine City from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. followed by a pre mass presentation of gifts at 11:15 and then a funeral mass at 11:30.
