James Walter Krause's Obituary
James Walter Krause “Big Jim” of East China died on April 18th after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. Born February 7, 1944 to Dorothy and Walter Krause of Marine City he graduated from Marine City High School without honors and retired early from Pontiac Motors before starting the successful and widely known "Jims Lawn Care LLC" which he ran from his brown recliner at his Shady Lane office. In 1970 he married the buxom Marie (Gastineau) with whom he, for the most part, successfully raised three men: James Krause of Paw Paw, MI, Jeff Krause (Stefanie) of Macomb, MI, and Jason Krause of Marine City. He loved his two grandchildren Grant (10) and Gavin Krause (8) of Paw Paw, MI. After early retirement he appeared to enjoy deer hunting with his boys, sitting at his cabin in Grayling, MI, cutting grass, Chinese buffets, painting things brown, and feeding his dogs. He definetly did not like vegetables, crying, or wearing shorts. James was preceded in death by his doting Mother and firefighter Father (Dorothy and Walter) and his very patient wife Marie. He is survived by his 3 sons, 2 grandchildren, older sister Karen Vollsteadt of Marysville ,MI and Louie Klein a mysterious childhood friend from parts unknown. In lieu of flowers his family asks that you honor Big Jim by showing some pride and keeping your lawn well-manicured you layback!
