James "Jim" C. Douglas' Obituary
James C. “Jim” Douglas, age 89, of St. Clair, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 11, 2022. He was born on July 13, 1933, to the late James and Genevieve Douglas.
Jim graduated from North Western High School, Detroit. He honorably served his country during the Korean War in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Midway. Jim married Lu Ann Ellis on June 24, 2000. Jim owned and operated, Douglas the Tailor, in Roseville of over 50 years. He was an original member of the Great Lakes Single Handed Society, CBMC, International Ship Masters Association (ISMA), as well as a recent member of Grace Bible Church, St. Clair. However, he was most proud to be a part of Work and Witness when he was with the Nazarene Church. Where he would go on mission trips to Africa and South America to build churches in the jungle.
Jim was very active, he enjoyed running and bicycling. His passion was sailing, he loved taking his family out on the water, traveling all over the Great Lakes.
He is survived by his wife, Lu Ann; children, Christian Douglas, Eric Douglas, Genevieve (Patrick) Donovan; siblings, Katherine Garcia, Christine (Phil) Martinico, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours will be Tuesday. November 15 from 3:00- 7:00 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Military honors will be conducted at Rosehill Cemetery, East China before interment.
