James Edward Furtah's Obituary
James Edward Furtah, age 88, of Marine City, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 10, 2024. He was born on July 17, 1936 to the late Lawrence and Dorothy Furtah. He married Rose Eberhardt on August 7, 1958. Jim started working as special police for the City of Marine City where he would work several football games and dances. Following his time with the police, Jim went on to work for Chris Craft in Algonac in the trim department 13 years. Jim then went on to work for the State of Michigan as a security officer, as well as serving as US Deputy Marshall on the side for 20 years. When he wasn’t working and providing for his family, Jim was an avid hunter, he enjoyed deer camp with his friends and family. He loved his hot rod cars. He wasn’t just about driving them, he liked the challenges of tinkering and working on them, even building motors for some of the cars. His great work ethic, and dedication to lead by example to provide for his family was something Jim took great pride in, and will be missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Rose Furtah; children, Joseph (Jessica) Furtah, Julie (Tim) Hardoin, Susan (Andy) Ward; 8 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
