James A. Evans' Obituary
James A. Evans, age 78, of St. Clair, went home to be with his Lord on July 20, 2025. He was born on April 9, 1947 to the late James and Dorothy Evans. Jim has served his country in the United States Navy. He married Shirley Curnow in July of 2014. Jim spent most of his working career as a pattern maker. He was a longtime, active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held numerous leadership positions. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed scuba diving, doing puzzles, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Evans; children, James (Kim) Spurgeon, Rachelle (John) Williams, Jimmy Evans, Brian Evans; step children, Amy Hope, Heather Cramer, Karrie (James) Trent; grandchildren, Joshua (Kate), Candise, Lauren (Kyle), Landon, Ella, Hannah, Ragan, Sam, Liam (Ackeria), Kelsey, Jamey; great grandchildren, Holden, Zandra, Linkon, Malachi, Bjorn.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Evans; siblings, Lee, Betty Lou, and Judy.
To honor Jim’s wishes, cremation arrangements have taken place with Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
A Memorial Service will take place at 1pm on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter day Saints, 1990 River Rd. St. Clair, Michigan with a luncheon to follow.
