Jacqueline Alice (Garin) Quick's Obituary
Jacqueline Alice (Garin) Quick, age 100, of Marine City, died February 17, 2024. She was born in Paris, France on December 27, 1923 to the late Charles and Mary Garin.
Jacqueline married James B. Quick on October 16, 1945 and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2015. Jackie and Jim took in Jim’s Nephew Robert Quick and raised him as their son. She was a dedicated member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Marine City since 1958 where she served in the women’s group the Altar Guild, and the Mutual ministry Committee. Having no family locally, she considered her church to be her family, whom she dearly loved. She was famous for the cookies she brought to church functions and to others in the community, Jackie also loved to walk, garden, bowl and help with bingo at the Knights of Columbus.
She is survived by her niece, Muriel DeGourse and her family in France; daughter-in-law, Barbara Quick and her family of East, Pennsylvania.
She is preceded in death by her nephew, Robert Quick and a child who died at birth.
A memorial service will be held April 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, 156 South William Street, Marine City. Memorials may be made to St. Martin’s Lutheran Church. To leave a message of comfort visit www.youngcolonial.com
