Jacob "Jake" Vercammen's Obituary
Jacob Vercammen, age 20, passed away unexpectedly on April 27, 2025 due to complications from his heart condition. He was born on September 21, 2004 to Jen and Jeff Vercammen. Jake was a graduate from Algonac High School, class of 2023.
Jake did not let his heart condition stop him from living life to the fullest. He enjoyed theatre, singing and dancing. Jake was tremendous in playing chess. A fun activity his mother taught him, turned into a skill he mastered and welcomed anyone that challenged him. Jake was skilled in playing his video games. He was a Star Wars enthusiast who also had a knack as a D.J. Jake always found his way to the aux cord to take over the music. Where he would never disappoint, and always put on a show. He was a talented magician, he was very interested in magic his whole life, who investigated and practiced new ways to entertain people. He was an avid animal lover. Jake helped Jen rescue and raise wildlife until they were healthy enough to be let free. Jake enjoyed the time he spent with his friends and family; he liked sitting with his buddies on out the patio. He was a faithful friend, who always had his buddies back. He was the biggest advocate for the Algonac Baseball team, proudly cheering on his squad. Fans would often hear Jake remark “The Boys Never Lose” when he was in attendance. Jake especially cherished the time he spent with his girlfriend, Sofia. Anyone that knew Jake, knew she meant the world to him. She was his first and last true love. Jake never met a stranger and never had an enemy; he was loved by everyone he knew. If you met Jake, you would never know he was battling a heart condition. His contagious personality, generous soul, and selflessness will be missed by all who knew him.
