Jack Allen's Obituary
Jack Allen, age 80, of St. Clair, died June 28, 2012, following a long illness. He was born October 9, 1931 in St. Clair to the late Willmond and Mamie Allen.
Jack sailed for 23 years on the Great Lakes and later worked as a union representative for Seafarers International Union and retired in 1990. Following his retirement he worked for Autoanodics from 1995 to 2010.
Jack was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, life member of K of C Council 2251 and Sons of the Legion all of St. Clair and the Moose Lodge, Port Huron.
Jack enjoyed going to the Cabin “JED’s” in Mio and also spending his Sunday’s at the boat houses.
Jack gave generously to his many friends, local charities and his community. His generous spirit will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Gail Allen, children; Ed (Kerry) Delore, Dennis (Jenny) Delore and Amberly (Louis) Furlin, grandchildren; Brady and Griffin Delore, Samantha, Tabitha and baby Jack Allen, brother; James (Claudia) Allen, many nieces and nephews and special friends and caregivers Shirley Kisielewicz and Judy Shovan, and dear friend Robert Cook.
The dedication, commitment, and love Jack shared with his family will be forever remembered.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters; Norma Thomson, Donald, Eldon, Bill, Pauline and Kenneth Allen, Audrey Pollan and Jean LaGrow.
Services will be held on Monday, July 2 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St.Clair. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at church prior to mass. Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice or the wishes of the family.
