Irene Lydia Shelton's Obituary
Irene Lydia Shelton, age 94, of St. Clair, passed away peacefully after a long courageous battle with dementia. She was born April 30, 1929 in Detroit to the late William and Mary Ann Hayes.
Irene enjoyed being an artist and was past president of the St. Clair Art association, she loved antiquing and antiques. This love turned into owning a store in Glen Lake, MI “Chrissy’s Somewhere in Time” with her husband Roger Shelton. She also enjoyed dancing with Roger and listening to music especially Frank Sinatra. She was also an avid journal writer which she did for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Jo (David Philip) Self, Shawn Shelton; grandsons David Andrew Self and Bryan (Aemi) Self.
Irene is preceded in death by the love of her life for 70 years Roger Wilson Shelton.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Harmony Cares Hospice for the love and care they provided for their mother.
