Mr. Hubert VanTiem's Obituary
Hubert VanTiem, age 94, of Marine City, died May 22, 2015 peacefully at home. He was born July 13, 1920 in Anchorville to the late Arthur and Barbara VanTiem. On May 3, 1947 Hubert married Shirley Faucher. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2006.
Hubert retired from H.N. Danneels Contracting as operating engineer following 30 years of employment. He was a member of OLR Holy Cross Catholic Church, Southeastern Michigan Conservation Club, K of C Council #856 Marine City, and Union Local #324 Operating Engineers.
He is survived by his children; Carol (Del) Vogel, Mary Holland (Rich Udman), Dennis (Debbie) VanTiem, Dale (Pam) VanTiem, Debbie (Tim) Kerby and Sharon (Glen) Meyers, grandchildren; Steve (Dawn) Vogel, Dave (Erin) Vogel, Joe (Erika) Holland, Dennis Holland, Ryan (Kelly) VanTiem, Jordan (Tatiana) VanTiem, Brett (Mandy) VanTiem, Janae and Brian VanTiem, Becky and Amanda Kerby, Michelle (Joshua) Goodrich and Kevin Meyers, great grandchildren; Karly, Emily, Quinn, Clayton, Natalie, Raegan, Ryland, Claire, Molly and Melinna, sisters; Rosemary Spens, Therese VanTiem and Agnes Daniels, brother in law, Cletus Schweiger and many nieces and nephews. He preceded in death by brothers; Fr. Sylvester, James, and Dave and sisters; Christine, Lucy and Margie.
Funeral mass will be Tuesday May 26th at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, OLR Parish, Marine City. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Tuesday 11:00 to 12:00 at the church prior to mass.
