Mr. Herman Otto Zimmerman's Obituary
Herman Otto Zimmerman, 83 of Marine City, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014. He was born September 18, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Herman A. and Tillie (Roggendorf) Zimmerman. He was a 1948 graduate of Holy Cross High School and proudly served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during two tours of duty in Korea. He spent his working life as a butcher and proprietor of Zimmerman’s Meat Market in Marine City, which his father opened in 1941.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marilyn (Regner) Zimmerman; sons, Mark (Ranee), Dean (Eileen), Scott (Pam), Craig (Diane), and Kevin (Stacy); 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; his brother Larry (Stuart Itzkowitz); and brother-in-law Robert Regner. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ernie; and a son, Brian.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in East China, MI from 1pm to 7pm with a rosary at 4pm. No further services will be conducted.
