Hazel M. Mitchell's Obituary
Hazel M. Mitchell, age 94, of St. Clair, passed away March 13, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Canada but moved to the United States when she was very young. She remained in the Marine City and St. Clair area her entire life. She married Clare Mitchell on June 18, 1937.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in St. Clair for many years.
She worked at the St. Clair Inn for many years, she was a dietitian for East China Schools and Medilodge of Richmond until retirement.
She is survived by four children; Phyllis Hart, Fred (Sandra) Mitchell, Mary Ellen (Norm) Koehn, and Sue Eames. Grandma to 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren.
She is also survived by sisters; Myrtle Smith, Charlotte (Don) Curtis, Joyce Shovan, brother; Roy Lumley and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by husband; Clare Mitchell, daughter; Janet Goodenough, son in laws; Pete Goodenough, John Hart, and great grandchildren;
Lorrianne Dooley and Jeffrey Himmel.
Services will be Saturday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, St.Clair.
