Mr. Harold "Bud" Zynda's Obituary
Harold “Bud” Zynda, age 96 of East China Twp. went to be with our Lord after a long illness on November 12, 2014. Bud was born October 17, 1918 in Detroit to the late Felix and Lydia (Sommerfeld) Zynda. He served honorably in World War II. Bud retired from the Detroit Gasket after 42 years of employment. He also video taped the services at St. Martins for many years, which he enjoyed doing. He also enjoyed assisting the St. Martins Pilots with their annual golf tournament by making the tee box signs. Bud was known at the puzzle and stool maker in the 1970’s. He loved boating and bowling, but golf was his true passion. He enjoyed all sporting events on television.
He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, great father and wonderful grandfather who loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marvel Zynda, two daughters and sons in law; Diana and Dr. John Ferris of Clinton Twp. and Beverly and Rick Hija of Marysville, granddaughters; Kerri (Kevin) Christofferson of Lake Orion and Michelle Klieman of Chicago, grandson; Jason Cobb and his fiancé Alliannea of Harrison Twp. Two great grandsons; Ethan and Nolan Christofferson, whom he loved dearly. Also a dear caregiver; Lori Biskner and his dear friends and family at St. Martin’s.

Bud was predeceased by a brother Alvin Zynda.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday November 17th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Marine City. Pastor Troy Waite will officiate. Viewing hours are Sunday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Monday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to service.
