Harold Distelrath's Obituary
Harold Distelrath, age 92, of Marysville, passed away November 18, 2022 due to complications of Covid-19. Harold was born February 16, 1930 to the late Clarence and Gladys Distelrath. On September 13, 1952, Harold married Kathleen Westrick in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Harold proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War Era. He retired following 38 years of employment with the Detroit Edison. Harold loved Sunday visits with his children and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling with his wife, grandsons and friends. Harold was also a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Kathleen Distelrath; children, Karen (Larry) Campbell, Dennis Distelrath, Kaye Distelrath and Mike (Cindy) Distelrath; grandchildren, Nick (Jessica) Campbell, Jeff (Maria) Campbell, David (Autumn) Distelrath, Katie (Eric) Moulton, Michael Distelrath II, Jonathan (Susie) Distelrath and Mary (Sam) Langell; 9 great grandchildren; in-laws, Joyce and Jerry Cooley, Kenny Westrick, Vern and Margie Westrick, Alfred Westrick, Jack and Alyce Westrick, Gail Westrick, Ann Westrick and Mary Louise Westrick and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter in law, Nancy Distelrath; sister, Eileen (Bob) Pretty; in-laws, Raymond and Anne Westrick, Leo and Bernice Westrick, Edward Westrick, Lloyd Westrick, Alvoy and Marilyn Westrick, Ervin and Linda Westrick, Marvin Westrick, Linda Westrick, Barb Westrick and Joyce Westrick.
A funeral mass will be held Tuesday November 29th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. with a rosary recital at 7:00 p.m. Due to public health concerns the family has requested visitors wear masks.
