Mr. Harold L. Beck's Obituary
Harold L. Beck, age 84, of Marine City, died September 10, 2013. He was born October 17, 1928 to the late Louis and Marie Beck.
On August 8, 1947 Harold married Sally Springborn. She preceded him in death on August 2, 2002. Harold worked for General Motors in Warren for eight years and then worked 30 years for General Signal in Southfield, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Church, Marine City, where he was also an usher. He was a member and Past Grand Knight for K of C Council #856, Marine City and a Fourth Degree K of C member of Assembly No. 480, Richmond. He was also a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers. Harold was an avid University of Michigan football fan and a 37 year season ticket holder.
He is survived by his children; Joseph (Christine) Beck, Robert (Connie) Beck and Angela (Antony) DeWitt, grandchildren; Andrea, Elizabeth, Aaron, Eric, Nicole, Ryan, Alec, Mark and Rebecca and great grandchildren; Jake, Olivia and Kylie.
He was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Beck in 1964.
Funeral services will begin Saturday September 14th at 10:45 a.m. at Young Funeral Home followed by an 11:30 a.m. mass at Holy Cross Church, Our Lady on the River Parish, Marine City. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Marine City. Visiting hours are Thursday 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
