Gwendolyn R. Cotton's Obituary
Gwendolyn R. Cotton, age 96, of St. Clair, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born July 1, 1927 in Detroit to the late E. Gladstone and Agnes Lee and afterwards moved to Marine City where she lived through high school. She married Charles Cotton in April of 1949, settled in St. Clair and began to build a family. Charles preceded her in death on February 4, 2010.
After her young children were in school, she worked as a medical secretary for many years in Port Huron. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed playing in multiple bridge clubs with the gals. She loved the St. Clair River and spent many hours watching the freighters on the river and volunteering with the St. Clair Beautification Committee. She was also a longtime and active member of the First United Methodist Church, St. Clair.
She is survived by her 3 children; David Cotton, Steven Cotton and Rebecca Cotton; her grandchildren, Angela Lucht, Noel Lucht, Samantha Mihalis and Vasili Mihalis. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12 at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment to follow at Rosehill Cemetery, East China Twp. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
