Gregory M. "Greg" King Sr.'s Obituary
It is with great sadness that our family announces that Gregory M. “Greg” King Sr., 59 of St. Clair, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025 after a long courageous battle with lung disease. Greg was born on August 7, 1966 in Port Huron to Arthur L. and Gloria J. King. Greg attended Port Huron Northern High School. Greg married the love of his life, Tamra Suisse, on September 17, 1994. Greg trained at the Michigan Laborers Training Institute and was a hard working, very proud union member of the Larborers Local 1075 for over 33 years, “The Legend” has clocked out dear Brothers and Sisters.
Greg was a dedicated baseball coach to his sons and many others through St. Clair Little League for over 15 years. He enjoyed boating and walleye fishing along with deer and turkey hunting. Greg was an avid baseball card and sports memorabilia collector, he was an amazing pool player and he was a devout Detroit Tigers, Lions and Red Wings fan. Greg was a dedicated family man and very selfless. He had a great sense of humor. He was a father to many, far exceeding his own. He was also a very devoted, loving husband.
Greg is survived by his wife, Tamra; his sons, Gregory II James (girlfriend Rebecca Mattson) and youngest, Thomas. His mother, Gloria King and his mother in law, JoAnn Suisse. Siblings, Cindy (Craig) Richards, Scott (Cindy) Perkins, Jeffrey Perkins and Deirdre (Dan) Blake; sister in law, Tracy Suisse; great buddy, Chuck Rogers and his honorary son, Jacob Ambrose. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Greg was made to feel like family and treated with amazing care and dignity by all the nurses, doctors and staff, especially his “jolly rancher” angels of the Respiratory Team at Lake Huron Medical Center, we are forever grateful.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Arthur L. King and father in law, Donald “Jimmy” Suisse; maternal grandparents, Rudolph and Emma Sharp and paternal grandparents, James and Margaret King.
Farewell to this dear man will take place on October 14, 2025 at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, East China Twp. Visitation will take place from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. with his service at 6:00 p.m.
