Gloria Grace (Thourlby) Greenley's Obituary
Gloria Grace (Thourlby) Greenley passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026. Up until the end Gloria maintained her compassion for life and appreciation for her family and friends. Gloria grew up in St. Clair, MI, graduated from Hillsdale College and soon after married John M. Greenley and raised her family. Gloria traveled the world and embraced all her life experiences.
Gloria had a kind disposition and appreciated all that life gave her. Even at “almost” age 98 she made friends wherever she went and especially at her assisted living facility in Naples, FL. Residents and staff knew her as kind and easy going. Her daughter-in-law Renee Greenley lived close by and was Gloria’s caregiver for many years making sure she was safe, happy and had all that she needed. Renee was with Gloria until the end.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband John M. Greenley, son Howard T. Greenley, her mother and father, 2 sisters and brother. Gloria is survived by her daughter Judith (Ron) Phillips, granddaughter Lacy, and grandson Jake (Lizzie) Phillips, daughter-in-law Renee Greenley, grandson Ryan (Jill), granddaughter Sierra Greenley and 5 great grandchildren.
Gloria expressed how grateful she was to have lived a long life full of experiences as well as family and friends. She truly had a life well lived.
