Glenn C. Simons' Obituary
Glenn C. Simons, age 81, of Columbus Twp., passed away unexpectedly, June 21, 2025. Glenn was born January 11, 1944 in St. Clair to the late Charles and Beatrice Simons.
Glenn graduated from St. Clair High School in 1963 and learned at an early age that hard work, determination and dedication were qualities he would embrace for his entire life.
At the age of 16 he worked at W.A. Young & Son Lumber Co. until he was called to serve his country in the Vietnam War. Glenn served with the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. Upon his return he married Lynn Fink on October 3, 1970 in Richmond. Glenn worked at the lumber company until 1982 and then joined R.G. Eisenhardt, Richmond from 1982 to 2025. 43 years of employment. Glenn was Union Steward for Local 337 and a union member since 1982. He also was a member of the F.O.E. #2784, Fair Haven.
Glenn took great pride in his work ethic and was a master operating heavy equipment, he could drive anything. Glenn’s presence will be missed as a valued employee, mentor and friend.
Most importantly Glenn’s family will remember him as a devoted beloved husband and a proud and loving father and grandfather who would do anything for his family.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lynn Simons; daughter, Dawn (Phil) Willman; son, Anthony (Michele) Simons; grandchildren, Maria Galante, Laci Galante, Vincent Galante, McKenzie Willman, Kierra Simons, Mackenzie Simons and Connor Simons; nieces and nephews, Randy and Peggy Houston and family, Vern and Lynne Houston and family and Terri Houston and family, along with sister in-law Fran Pauly and nephew William Pauly.
He was preceded in death by his sister and brother in law, Marlene and Ray Houston and nephew, David Houston and nephew Gary Pauly.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 26th at 6:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visitation will be Thursday prior to service 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.
