Gilroy "Gil" O. Pavey's Obituary
Gilroy “Gil” O. Pavey, age 72, of Casco Twp., peacefully passed away on April 20, 2017, with his family at his side. He was born June 27, 1944 in Detroit to the late Gilroy and Emma Pavey.
On October 27, 1967 Gil married Betty May Uppleger. She preceded him in death on March 31, 1998. Gil proudly served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and later worked for Inductoheat in Madison Heights for over 20 years.
Gil was Past Grand Master and member of the Richmond Masonic Lodge, member of the American Legion Post #382, St. Clair and a member of St. James UCC, Casco Twp.
He is survived by children, Kevin (Dee Ann) Pavey and Cheri (Ronald) Rosso; six grandchildren, brothers in law and sisters in law, Elmer and Nancy Uppleger, Nancy Maedel, Ed and Lou Ann Uppleger and Mary Jane Shoebotton and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Smith and brothers in law and sisters in law, Harold and Betty Uppleger, Don and Carol Uppleger, Junior Maedel and Don Shoebottom.
Funeral service will be Monday April 24th at 11:00 a.m. at St. James UCC, Casco Twp. Visiting hours are Saturday 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Monday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at church prior to service. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Matthew Shoebottom, Jim and Jerry Maedel, Lee, Dale, David and Joe Uppleger. Honorary pallbearer is Kelly Van Thomme.
