Geraldine Draves' Obituary
Geraldine Draves, age 87, of Manistee, Michigan, formerly of Casco Twp., passed away February 18, 2018 following a short illness. She was born November 5, 1930 in Detroit to the late Elmer and Nellie Shirkey.
On December 2, 1950 Geraldine married Edward J. Draves in Marine City. Geraldine was a nurse at River District Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1985. She enjoyed countless hobbies, but most of all her love of family, friends and animals filled her life with joy.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Edward Draves; loving daughter, Linda LaCroix (Brett Mercer); cherished grandchildren, Annette LaCroix, Julie LaCroix and Jon LaCroix (Jason Haigh); great grandchildren, Samantha (Dylan) Hinkle, Autumn Rae LaCroix (Cole Sanders) and Elijah LaCroix; great great grandchildren, Darian, Riley Rae and Daniel Hinkle; brother, Clarence (Jennie) Shirkey and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Elmer and Leo Shirkey.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
Memorials may be made to the Michigan Humane Society or the Hospice of the donor’s choice.
