Gerald T. "Jerry" Malinowski's Obituary
Gerald T. "Jerry" Malinowski, age 75, of Marine City, passed away on October 19, 2014. He was born on July 31, 1939 in Hamtramck to the late Stephen and Helen Malinowski. He married Mary Lou Manfre on April 24, 1965. He graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in accounting. He then attended Detroit College of Law and received his law degree in 1974. Jerry also proudly served and retired from the United States Coast Guard Reserves after 30 years obtaining the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Four. He retired from the IRS- Appellate Division after 30 plus years of service. He enjoyed reading, traveling, long walks, and making rosaries with his wife.
He was a life long member of Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City.
He is survived by his wife; Mary Lou Malinowski, children; Denise Peters, Donna Coate, Jeffery (Lori) Malinowski, and Dawn (Roger) Malcolm.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and brother; Joseph (Karen) Malinowski. He is preceded in death by his sister and brother in law; Arlene and James Hartrick.
The family would like to give special thanks to Visiting Angels and his personal care giver Millie Behem for their wonderful care.
A funeral mass will be held Thursday at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to mass. A rosary will be said Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
