Mr. George A. Ladensack's Obituary
George A. Ladensack, age 88, of Marine City, died March 24, 2015. George was born in Detroit to the late Carl and Martha Ladensack and just celebrated his 88th birthday with his family. On September 29, 1951 George married Jeanette VanNest in Detroit. He served his country honorably during World War II with the U.S. Army. He was very proud of his 40 years of employment with the Detroit Gasket in Marine City. He was a faithful member of Holy Cross Church Our Lady on the River Parish. George was an avid hunter, fisherman, woodworker and all around handyman with a knack of fixing anything. His great sense of humor was enjoyed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jeanette Ladensack, children; Carl “Butch” (Virginia “Ginger”) Ladensack, David (Debra) Ladensack and Delbert (Julie) Ladensack, grandchildren; Amy (Brannan) Gamber, Lisa Stephenson, Michele (Michael) Haberichter, Raquel and Brooke Ladensack, Sarah (Jeff) Miles, Amy (Daniel) Williams and Selena Ladensack, great grandchildren; Piper, Zane and Aren. Also surviving are siblings; Carl Ladensack, John (Pauline) Ladensack, Anna Dandron and August (Carole) Ladensack and many nieces and nephews and his dog, Sally.
George was predeceased by daughter; Diane (John) Tessmer, siblings; Dorothy (Pat) Sumner, Duane (Mary) Ladensack, Joe (Regina) Ladensack, Mary (Roy) Griffor and Clara (Dan) Lipa and sister in law; Lois Ladensack.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday March 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church OLR Parish, Marine City. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Marine City. Visiting hours are Friday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to mass.
