George Joseph Gillespie Sr.'s Obituary
George Joseph Gillespie, Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 3, 2023 at the age of 84. George had 82 years of nothing short of an amazing and healthy life, filled with projects ranging from woodworking and wood splitting to hunting and fishing. Most importantly George always made his family his #1 priority. He was a loving and dedicated husband and a treasured dad and grampa.
George loved to love people. He is survived by his “girlfriend” (a.k.a. wife), Evelyn Gillespie, with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage last December. He is also survived by his 3 children George (Karen), John (Patti), and Lisa. His two grandchildren Olivia and Max will always be the brightest sparkle in George’s eye. His family will always be loved and guided by George; he will simply live in their hearts.
George’s vivacious personality always made people around him laugh. Making others laugh was George’s most cherished gift by all who knew him.
We hope you will join us in celebrating George’s life on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Young Funeral Home, 4061 St. Clair Hwy, China Twp. Visitation begins at 11 am with a Catholic service at 3 pm at the same location.
