Gene D. Wilson's Obituary
Gene D. Wilson, age 83, of East China Twp. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 14, 2024. He was born December 22, 1940, in Detroit to the late John and Julliet Wilson. Gene married Mary Beauley at St. Basil Church in Eastpointe on July 22, 1961. Gene was a machinist and was a surface grinder in the automotive industry for many years retiring in 2006.
He was a member of the Knights of Colombus council #856 Marine City for 40 years. Gene enjoyed woodworking making bird houses, board games and rocking horses. He liked bike riding alongside his dog snoopy, playing cards and camping, he was a very mischievous person who was always playing jokes on family and friends. Most of all Gene loved the time he was able to spend with his family and was a tremendous caretaker for his parents and in laws.
Gene is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary; children, Susan (Robert) Vandenbossche, Debbie (Bill) Kotynski, Michelle (Late Rodney) Schultz, Louis (Julie) Wilson; grandchildren, Stacey (Doug) Lindow, Cheryl Vandenbossche, Stephanie (Keith) Sredzinski, Cassandra (Ryan) Kemmerling, Austin (Fiancée Esse) Knight, Samantha Knight, Violet (James) Phillips, Louis (Jessica) Wilson, Bradley Wilson; great grandchildren, Asher Lindow, Paxton Lindow, Kensley Lindow, Lilyana Gonzalez, Aria Sredzinski, Elliott Sredzinski, Tessa Sredzinski, Harvey Kemmerling, Sylas Johnson, Mya Wilson, Daniel Hopkins, Julianna Phillips; brothers, Don (Late Nancy) Wilson and Robert (Karen) Wilson, along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother John Wilson.
