Gary Chester Rumbaugh's Obituary
Gary C. Rumbaugh, age 74 of Port Hope, went to be with his heavenly Father on Saturday January 21, 2012 he was born March 11, 1937 to the late Chester B. and Marjorie (Clayton) Rumbaugh. He was happily married to Jean M. (Hart) Rumbaugh for 55 years. They were united in marriage on September 1, 1956.
Gary was happiest sailing the Great Lakes for 5 years. But settled down and worked for Michigan Consolidated Gas for 20 years, then Detroit Edison for another 15 years.
He has always been a member of a Sportsman Club, the last club being Grindstone-Port Hope. He was a lifelong (50+ years) member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, cards, pool, and being with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Jean of Port Hope, and their children and grandchildren, Mark and Eileen (David and Jacob) of Cedar MI, Gary Keith (Daniel) of China MI, Jeffery C. of San Jose, CA and Michelle R. and Mike Stilwell(Michael, Charles and Marjorie)of Yale MI., Five great grandchildren. Brother Jan and Mary Rumbaugh and Brother-in-law John and Phyllis Hart. Plus many nieces, nephews and cousins
He was preceded in death by Brother Michael, grandsons James and Scott Rumbaugh and cousin Fred Robbins.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the donor’s choice, the Salvation Army, any local Sportsman Club or the wishes of the family.
