Gary P. Allen's Obituary
Gary P. Allen, age 80, of St. Clair Twp., passed away December 24, 2023. He was born February 25, 1943 in St. Clair to the late Philip and Wilma Allen. He married Judith Filo on April 17, 1963.
He worked as a lineman for Detroit Edison for 36 years before retiring in 2001. Gary loved the outdoors, shiny new cars, a good dog, telling a joke, cutting the grass, baseball, shooting hoops, Jeeps, the perfect hamburger (no cheese), cookies with his coffee, and road trips with his brother Dave. Most of all he cherished time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years; Judith, his children; Brad (Judy) Allen, Connie (David) Share, and Eric Allen.
He is also survived by his grandchildren; Sean Allen, Matthew (Karla) Allen, Ben Share, Rachel (Chad) Moore, and Lauren (Jason) Bayless, along with his great-granddaughters; Brynlee and Chandlar Bayless, his brothers; Ron (Susan) Allen and David (Cindy) Allen.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29 at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the service.
