Galiard Edward "Gale" Shafer's Obituary
Galiard "Gale" Edward Shafer, age 68, of North Street, formerly of East China Twp., died December 15, 2010.
He was born May 30, 1942 in Detroit to the late Howard and Genevieve Shafer.
Gale was a licensed tug boat captain, working on the Great Lakes for 40 years. He also owned and operated G.E. Shafer Inc. doing millwork and cabinetry for 15 years.
He is survived by his siblings; Christine (Murphy) Cole, Mark (Mary Beth) Shafer, and Judy (Steven) Pate.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church,415 N. 6th St. St. Clair, MI 48079
Visiting hours are Sunday 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home and Monday 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
