Fred J. Rettinger, Sr.'s Obituary
Fred J. Rettinger Sr., age 71, of Marine City, died June 15, 2011. He was born October 2, 1939 in St. Clair to the late Conrad Sr. and Martha Rettinger. He graduated from St. Clair High School in 1958. On September 16, 1961 Fred married Joan Burns in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Fred was an avid hunter, gardener, and fisherman. Fred's family and friends will forever remember him as the kindnest man they knew. He was not only a husband, father, father in law, grandfather and brother, but a best friend to all his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years Joan Rettinger, children; Fred J. Jr. (Kimberly) Rettinger and Tracey (Douglas) Zielinski, grandchildren; Alicia, Victoria and Madison, siblings; Martha Delor and Conrad Rettinger Jr., brother in law; Marvin Markel, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin Saturday June 18th at 10:15 a.m. at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, China Twp. and 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City.
Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Marine City. Visiting hours are Friday 2:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home with an evening rosary.
