Mr. Frederick W. Zweng's Obituary
Frederick W. Zweng, age 92, of China Twp., died November 20, 2014. He was born June 11, 1922 to the late Frederick and Tracy Zweng. On June 20, 1959 Fred married Helen Szczesniak in Hamtramck. She preceded him in death in 2005.
Fred was a 33 year employee of Chris Craft and following his retirement worked for over 10 years for Kroger. He was also a longtime area farmer. Fred was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Our Lady on the River Parish, where he was also a member of the Usher’s Club. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #856, Marine City.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law; Frederick J. Zweng and Susan Paurazas and granddaughter Allison Zweng along with many nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by a sister, Mabel Jones.
Funeral services will be Wednesday November 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Our Lady on the River Parish, Marine City. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. A rosary will be said Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
