Frank Shonk's Obituary
Frank Shonk, age 81, of East China Twp., passed away May 20, 2022. Frank was born September 5, 1940 in Hamtramck to the late Frank and Marie Shonk.
Frank was a graduate of Roseville High School, where he was one of their top ball players in school history. His talent and love of the game caught the eye of the Milwaukee Braves and Cincinnati Reds, who invited him for tryouts.
Frank was a 37 year employee of Ford Motor Company at Sterling Axle. He was an avid landscaper that took great pride in the appearance of his lawn and landscaping. Frank also enjoyed serving as president of Frankie and the Bombers Car Club.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years Barbara Shonk.
Frank is survived by his sons and daughters in law, Paul and Kimberly Shonk and Kenneth and Angie Shonk; granddaughters, K.C. Shonk, Abby Shonk and Kate Shonk.
He was also predeceased by his sister, Karen Shonk.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service will be held Sunday August 28th at 12:30 p.m. at Rosehill Cemetery, East China Twp. Arrangements by Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
