Frank J. Schaller's Obituary
Frank J. Schaller, age 84, of St. Clair Twp., died November 4, 2016 at his home. He was born February 11, 1932 in Detroit, son of Aloysius and Florence Schaller. He is predeceased by foster parents Cal and Bernetta Alleman.
Frank served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #382 and Knights of Columbus Council #2251 both of St. Clair. Frank retired from Chrysler Corp. after 30 years of service. He will be remembered for his friendliness and always helping others.
He loved woodworking and going to craft shows. He also enjoyed going camping with his fifth wheel, traveling up north, crossword puzzles, gardening and playing euchre.
He is survived by his wife Barbara and had a wonderful life together for 55 years. Daughter, Vicki (Lou) Roe. Sons, David (Sue), Dan and Mike Schaller. Brothers in law; Albert and Arthur Cahours, sister in law; Donna (Ted) Kennedy, grandchildren; Jason Fiedler, Krystal Knightengale, Beth Roe, Tabatha (C.J.) Clish, David Schaller, Holly Menzies, Brennan, Connor and Kiernan Schaller, great grandchildren; Sarahbeth, Dalton, Jamie, Joseph, Jayce, Zaylee and Christopher, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Ann Henry and Rosemary Lutz, brothers Mike and Allan Schaller, grandson Joey Fiedler and sister in law Susan Cahours.
Funeral mass will be Thursday November 10th at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. with a rosary recital at 7 p.m. and Thursday at church one hour prior to mass.
