Frances I. Walker's Obituary
Frances I. Walker, age 81, of China Twp., passed away after a long illness with her loving family by her side. She was born in St. Clair on August 20, 1940 to the late Ervin and Rachael Muggelberg. She married Norman “Nate” Walker on June 18, 1960 in St. Clair. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2020.
Fran worked as a hairdresser for over 60 years and owned and operated Fran’s Beauty Salon. She was a lifelong member of St. Matthew’s U.C.C. in Adair.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and welcomed each new grandchild with a blanket, sweater and mittens. As Nate did the gardening, Fran enjoyed canning the harvest. They enjoyed traveling and sight seeing the many lighthouses around the Great Lakes. She also enjoyed the “Walker Family Christmas Vacation” in Frankenmuth every year.
She is survived by her daughters; Marji Beaudry, Julie Pizzo (Nathan Schroder) and Norma (John) Pringle, grandchildren; Tina (Doug) Wendell, David (April) Pizzo, Melissa (Matt) Cowper, Angie Pizzo, Alyson (Matt) Dersam, Emily Askew (Jimmy Freeland), Kyle (Casey) Askew, Ryan Beaudry, McKensey Pizzo (Brandon Richards), Rachel Pringle (Anthony Ferraro), Joehl Pizzo, Lauren (Will) Kriewall, Nathan Bordeau, Aubrie Pringle, Devon Raper, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister; Clara Westrick, brother and sister in-laws; Linda (Bob) Quirk, Edward (Connie) Cameron, Hank (Sharon) Crawford, Mary Bowman, Norma (Bob) Cotner, Kathy (Lloyd) Eschenberg, Dan Frantz, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by 2 children; Norman and Teresa Walker, siblings; Ralph and William Muggelberg and son in-law; Tony Pizzo.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23 at St. Matthew’s U.C.C. in Adair. Visiting hours will be Monday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and at church one hour prior to service.
