Mrs. Florence Hazel Duetsch's Obituary
Florence Hazel Duetsch, age 93, of Cottrellville Twp., died March 20, 2016. She was born September 13, 1922 to the late Arnold and Bertha (Erdbecker) Dodge. On January 26, 1946 Florence married Walter Duetsch. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2002.
Florence was a lifetime resident of the Marine City area. She worked in a factory before her marriage to Walt. After marriage she embraced the life of being a full time farm wife, mother and homemaker. She loved baking, gardening and cherished her time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Ron Duetsch (Kathy Gallagher), Sande (Ron) Martiny and Bob (Gail) Duetsch, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, sisters; Helen DeLude and Betty Reynolds, brothers in law and sisters in law; Art and Valarie McHaney, Joe and Alvina Coulthard and Ken and Sharon Duetsch, many nieces and nephews and dear friends Isabelle and Ada.
She was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Suzanne Duetsch, sisters; Evelyn (Larry) Summerville and Delores (Ken) Schunk, brothers; LaVerne Dodge (MIA Korea) and Arnold (Mary) Dodge, brothers in law and sisters in law; John DeLude, Stanley and Winnie Duetsch and Florence and Melvin Thueme.
The family wishes to thank Mary and her staff at Wadhams Creek and Kathy and her staff from Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care of Florence.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday March 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours are Tuesday March 22nd 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday 12 to 1 p.m. prior to service. Memorials are suggested to Kids in Distress.
