Evelyn "Ev" Marjorie Gallagher's Obituary
Evelyn “Ev” Marjorie Gallagher, age 90, of St. Clair, went to be with her Lord and Savior and her beloved Ernie on January 27, 2016. Ev was born in Marine City to the late John and Minnie Dragmiller on December 28, 1925.
Ev loved the Lord and her family above all else. Along with raising her five children, Ev taught Sunday School at Immanuel Lutheran Church for 20 years. She also taught Special Ed at church, served on the Alter Guild, helped direct wonderful Christmas programs with the children, cooked probably the best turkeys and dressing for Thanksgiving dinners, (there was never anything left to bring home!) sang in the choir and decorated beautiful Chris-mon trees for Christmas. Those are only a few of the things Ev did for her church. There are too many other things to list that Ev did for people that needed her help.
Ev married Ernie Gallagher on Friday, September 13, 1947. It was all because of a snowball. They were married for 62 years. No bad luck there. Ernie preceded her in death on May 25, 2009.
Ev is survived by her five children: Her loving and devoted caregiver, Dawn Gallagher, Michael (Anita) Gallagher, Diana Craig, Dan Gallagher, and Patti (Don) Janis, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, sisters; Norma Bassett and Donna Simons. Ev was preceded in death by her brothers; Melvin and Jack Dragmiller, sister Mabel Hallier and great grandson, Dakota Pedigo.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Tuesday March 29, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Clair at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Mom just to let you know, as with Dad, you will remain in our hearts forever.
The family of Evelyn would like to give their sincere thanks to St. John River District Hospital and Reverence Hospice for taking such wonderful care of our mother. Your compassion and care went above and beyond.
