Evelyn Mary Cowan's Obituary
Evelyn Mary Cowan, age 93, of Marysville, formerly of St. Clair, died September 13, 2012. She was born October 6, 1918 in Detroit to Rudolph and Mary Horwath.
Evelyn was employed for 57 years as pastry chef at the St. Clair Inn, she was most known for her famous strawberry pies. Evelyn also enjoyed sewing, enbroidering and working word search puzzles.
She is survived by her sister; Emma Sharrow of East China, nieces and nephews; Carl Sharrow and Al and Katy Sharrow of Marine City, Tim and Kim Sharrow of Marysville, Gary and Becky Dowd of West Palm, Florida, John and Nancy Dowd of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Candice and Roel Mendoza of Fort Gratiot, Gail and Dave White of Okemos, Susan Addley of Port Huron, numerous great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sister and brother in law; Ethel and Charles Dowd, brother in law; Leo Sharrow, niece; Beverly Dowd and dear friend; Harry Townsend.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday September 17th at 10:30 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
