Ervin "Erv" Stoecker's Obituary
Ervin "Erv" Stoecker, age 74, of St. Clair, died with his family at his bedside on February 18, 2011 following a courageous 10 year battle with cancer. Erv was born May 27, 1937 in Richmond to the late John and Alma Stoecker. On January 28, 1961 he married Gayle Johnson in St. Clair and they recently celebrated their 50 year annniversary.
Erv served two years with the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a finish drywaller for over 30 years. Erv enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and especially loved his time shared with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; Gayle Stoecker, children; Ann (Jim) Mayworm, Mark (Michelle) Stoecker, Debra (John) Menke, and Kathy (Jeff) Westrick, grandchildren; Alyse, Deanna (Brad), John, Jacob, Jesse, Ben, and Olivia, brother; Wallace (Marie) Stoecker, sister; Dorothy (John) Sinew, sister in law; Norene Stoecker, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson; Maxwell and brother; Norman Stoecker. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours are Sunday 7:00 to 9:00 and Monday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary.
