Eric Arthur Green Jr.'s Obituary
Eric Arthur Green Jr. of Casco passed away on January 5, 2026 at the age of 77. He was born on December 9, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Eric Sr. and Rita Green.
Eric attended and graduated from St. Augustine's Catholic School in Richmond. Shortly, after graduation Eric was drafted into the United States Army in 1968. Eric served approximately two years in the Army and Vietnam. Eric was also a part of the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Eric was also a U.S. Army Armor. Eric was honorably discharged due to a disabling injury to which he lost his right eye.
Eric was awarded a Purple Heart Medal, National Defence Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Sharpshooter Badge. Eric became a member of the Vietnam Veterans Club in Clinton Twp.
Eric worked for the Mount Clemens Post Office for 35 years as a mail carrier.
Eric enjoyed spending his summers in Port Crescent State park camping with his family. In later years, Eric had his own place in Port Austin for the family to continue to enjoy every summer. Eric was also an avid golfer, gardener, and loved to sing karaoke. Eric enjoyed attending his children; and eventually grandchildren's sporting events.
Eric was the life of every party. He was the heart of every family gathering. He had a way of making everyone laugh. He was known to do and say just about anything. Everyone that knows him will most likely have at least one funny story to share about him. He was known as the biggest gentle giant, with a huge heart and would do anything for anyone.
Eric is survived by his loving wife Donna of 55 years, their children Glenn (Andra), Todd and Carrie (David) DeVries, grandchildren Shelby, Savanna, Ty, Brooke, Lauren, Kate, Blake and Abby. Preceded in death by his parents Eric Sr. and Rita as well as his sister Karen Green.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on Sunday, January 18, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 7542 Palms Road
