Emma "Ginger" Ouellette's Obituary
Emma “Ginger” E. Ouellette, age 87, of Marine City, died July 25, 2009 after a short illness. She was born November 12, 1921 in Ashtabula, Ohio to the late Frank and Lillian Tobias.
She married Fred Ouellette on January 16, 1943 in Ashtabula, Ohio. Fred and Emma were married for 47 years. Mrs. Ouellette was a longtime waitress in the Blue Water Area. She also worked in the cafeteria at St. John’s River District Hospital well into her seventies. Emma cherished crocheting and donated many of her handmade items to several local churches.
Mrs. Ouellette is survived by her children; Fred (Carolyn) Ouellette and Nancy (Tony) Schweihofer. She is the loving grandmother of Joseph and Daniel (Lisa) Ouellette, Angela (Lance) Aures, Candice (William) Spencer, Donald R. Biland II, TeriAnn (Jamie) Harms, and Tracy Lynn Schweihofer. Proud grandmother of 9 great-grandchildren. Cherished sister of Mary and Helen. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by husband Fred; daughter, Judy Biland; grandson, William Ouellette; siblings; Frank, Robert, Betty, Lillian, Dorothy, Irene, and Margie.
The family will receive visitors at Young Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-9pm with a 7pm Rosary. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Additional visitation will be held to 10:30-11am at the church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, St. Clair. Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Hospice.
