Ellen Augusta Kohn's Obituary
Ellen Augusta Kohn, age 82, of Marysville, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024. She was born in Detroit on July 28, 1941 toe the late Lester and Mary Kohn. Ellen was a graduate of Denby High School class of 1960 Following high school, she received her Associates degree from Macomb County Community College. Ellen owned and operated an organic farm, where she provided food for top chefs in the New Orleans area. Emerald and Chef Paul were frequent customers of hers. Ellen was also a talented artist. She would paint, but excelled in staining glass. She was proud to have a stained-glass window at Chef Paul’s restaurant. Ellen was quite the seamstress, who could sew anything. She spent most of her time sewing quilts. Ellen was an avid animal lover. She was a dog breeder, who would take her dogs to dog shows all over the country. After her retirement, she volunteered at Vantage Point Community Center, Port Huron. Where she shared information on the various ships boating through the channel.
She is survived by her sons, Charles (Pamela) McCuen III, Patrick (Sally) McCuen; grandchildren, Jessica McCuen, Patricia (Greg) McCuen, Charles (Jessica) McCuen IV, Kayla McCuen, Megan (Matt) McCuen-Witt, Ruth McCuen, Katelyn McCuen; great grandchildren, Liam Witt, Ellie McCuen, as well as several special nieces and nephews.
Ellen is preceded in death by her son, Daniel McCuen; siblings, Jerry Kohn, Joe Kohn, and JoAnn Pellitter.
Cremation arrangements with Young Funeral Home, China Twp. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, October 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
