Ellen Elizabeth Amama, age 77, of Clay Twp. went home to be with the Lord July 16, 2019. She was born July 21, 1941 in Detroit to the late Albert and Elizabeth Gabrielson. She grew up in northern Michigan and graduated from Pellst Read Obituary
I met Ellen in 1960 at the Evangeline apartments near downtown Detroit. It was my first night there and I had to get out of bed at 12:00 midnight to answer my door. It was Ellen. She had just gotten off work and the front desk told her there was girl from Kansas that just checked in and suggested she contact her. Ellen said she was tired and had decided to wait until the weekend to look me up but at the last minute she push the elevator button about the time she was to my floor. She got off and knocked at my door. That was our first meeting that became a life time of friendship. She invited me to church and youth group and as a result, I became a believer in God and what Jesus did with our sin. I’ve always thought of her as my spiritual mother. I’m very saddened at her passing but I know she is happy to be
reunited with her husband and her Lord. I’m very sorry for you her family for your loss.
