Elizabeth May "Liz" Westrick's Obituary
Elizabeth May “Liz” Westrick, age 96, of St. Clair Twp., passed away peacefully February 13, 2018. She was born October 18, 1921 in St. Clair to the late Oswald and Delia Emig.
Elizabeth married Russell Westrick on July 3, 1943 in St. Clair. He preceded her in death in 2010. Elizabeth enjoyed reading, crocheting and knitting, but her primary focus in life was her family, who she loved dearly.
She is survived by her children, Lawrence (Janice) Westrick, Patricia (Joseph) Harman, Nancy (Rob) Webb and Mary Jane “Janie” (Jack) Tacey; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren; sister in law, Clara Westrick and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by an infant daughter; infant son, Thomas; infant great-granddaughter, McKenna Rae Sinko; daughter in law, Lori Westrick and brothers, George and Charles Emig.
Elizabeth’s family wishes to acknowledge Medilodge of St. Clair and Season’s Hospice for the compassionate care of their mother.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday, February 17th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair, starting with prayers at 10:15 a.m. at Young Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours are Friday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with rosary recital at 7 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Elizabeth’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
