Elizabeth "Nancy" Donaldson's Obituary
Elizabeth Nan Donaldson, age 79, formerly of New Baltimore, was born to the late James and Elizabeth Warnock of Carnoustie, Scotland on the 25th day of August in the year of our Lord 1936. She was married to Alexander Donaldson for 34 years before life’s circumstances parted their union, not their souls.
“Nancy”, as she preferred to be called, devoted her early years to being a caring mom. The latter part of her adult life was spent serving the residents and guests of Presbyterian Village who in turn gave her inspiration and an affinity for life held close and not often shown. In many ways her co-workers became an extended family, looking out for her and helping where they could.
Nancy is survived by sons Garry (Kristi) and Wayne (Cynthia), grandchildren Sarah, Kathryn, Trevor and Nathan, brother James (Cathy) Warnock, sister Josephine (Donald) Winrow, in-laws Marion (Pedro) Gonzalez, William (Maureen) Donaldson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert (Marie) Warnock, ex-spouse Alexander and grandson Zackary.
Special thanks to all those compassionate hands that tended to her needs in the time that she could no longer do for herself. Just know that it was and is deeply appreciated.
A memorial service will be conducted Sunday December 20th at 2:30 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to U of M Alzheimer’s Disease Center.
