Mrs. Eleanor D. Beier's Obituary
Eleanor D. Beier, age 91, of St. Clair, died May 13, 2014. She was born January 11, 1923 in Casco Twp., to the late Robert and Martha Kammer.
On May 10, 1947 Eleanor married Harold Beier in Casco Twp. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2000.
Mrs. Beier was a long time employee of Silk’s Flower Shop following years of working at Ruff’s Greenhouse in St. Clair. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church with memberships in the Ladies Aid, Ladies Auxiliary, and the Altar Guild. She was a former member of the St. Clair Beautification Committee. Eleanor was an avid card and Scrabble player, and also enjoyed flowers, birds, fishing, and cheering for the Detroit Tigers.
She is survived by her children, Glenn and Delphine Beier, Terry and Pamela Beier, and Vicki and Mike Holth, grandchildren, Brett Beier, Janene and Scott Schroeder, Brooke Beier, and Emily Holth, great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Mason, and Owen Schroeder, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Christine Beier, special niece, Doris Thueme, along with many dear nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Allen Kammer, Hilda Lomerson, Edwin Kammer, Delia Krohn, and Robert Kammer Jr.
Eleanor dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took great pride and joy in their lives and accomplishments.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Clair. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours are Friday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to services.
