Elaine Raymond's Obituary
Elaine Estella Raymond, age 89, of St. Clair passed away peacefully Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the home of her son and daughter in law.
She was born May 22, 1920 in Wales Township to the late Charles and Meryl King. she married Celden Raymond on October 11, 1947 in Lambs, Michigan and has been living in St. Clair for the past 63 years.
After graduating from Port Huron High School, Elaine attended St. Joseph HOspital College of Nursing in Mt. Clemens and graduated as a Registered Nurse. She worked at the former St. Clair Hospital until it closed and retired from Mercy Hospital in 1982. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in St. Clair. Elaine was active in the Girls Scouts, was a volunteer nurse, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, enjoyed knitting, and loved her family.
Elaine is survived by her children Julie (Dennis) Stickney of Jenison, Mich. and Craig (Carol) Raymond of St. Clair. Grandchildren cory (Kristina) Stickney, Curt Stickney, Chad Raymond, and Charlie (Erin) Raymond. Great grandchildren, Ava, Graham, and Uriah Stickney. Best friend Mrs. Donna Kennedy, special friends Archie and Sandy Rock and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband Celden on Nov. 22, 2008, her parents, sisters, Betty King, Linda Vathke, and Connie Storms and a brother Foster King.
Funeral services will be held Monday January 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, China Twp. with the Rev. Donald Gotham officiating. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Sunday 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday prior to the service from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Lambs Cemetery, Lambs, Michigan
