Elaine Marie Neiman's Obituary
Elaine Marie Neiman, 85, of Richmond, passed away comforted by the love of her family. Born September 24, 1940, to Kenneth and Cloris Hartway, Elaine married the love of her life, Larry Neiman, on October 1, 1960. Together, they built a devoted family centered on faith, community, and love. She was a cherished mother of five, grandmother of 11, and great-grandmother of four. Elaine was active in 4-H, China Township Parks & Recreation, and the Trinity Lutheran Church Card Ministry. In her younger years, she loved sewing, euchre parties and bowling. In her later years, she enjoyed visiting with friends and watching her favorite game shows around the clock. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry; brother Dennis Hartway; sister Denise Hartway; grandson James Small; and son-in-law Donald Small. She is survived by her children, Debbie Small, Jerry (Christine) Neiman, Mary (Raymond) Small, Rita (Daniel) Chitwood, and Marie (Jay) St. James; her beloved grandchildren: Melissa Small, Laura (Christian) Small, Patrick Neiman, Ethan (Maddie) Neiman, Anita (Jay) Chitwood, Katelynn Chitwood, Nicholas St.James Jared St.James, Jason St.James, & Gerald St.James and great-grandchildren: Anastasia Sullivan, Donald James Sullivan, Ruby Sullivan and Lillian Neiman; her brother Nelson (Betty) Hartway; sister Deloris (Robert) Berlinger; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will dearly miss her.
A visitation will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 3:00p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 4061 St. Clair Hwy. East China. A Funeral Service will be held at Young Funeral Home Friday, May 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with the burial following at Balfour Cemetery.
