Edward Addison Terhune's Obituary
Edward Addison Terhune, age 86, of Marine City, passed away September 10, 2024. Ed was born in Marine City on February 18, 1938 to the late Addison and Lucille Terhune.
Ed graduated from Marine City High School in 1955 and later attended General Motors Institute. He proudly served as an Air Force Reservist from 1957 – 1964 with the 427 Tactical Air Command.
Ed married E. Sue Johns on November 5, 1966. She preceded him in death in 2022 following 55 years of marriage. Along with his father and brother, Ed owned and operated Terhune Sales and Service in Marine City. This labor of love began when Ed started working at the dealership at age 12. His commitment to providing the best service possible to his customers and love of community is how Ed continued the 77 year tradition of Terhune Sales and Service.
Ed was also an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City as head usher and offered a range of other church duties. He also was a member of K of C Council #856, Marine City.
Ed loved everything about his home on the river. He not only enjoyed watching the freighters pass by with his golden retriever and cat at his side, but he knew each ship, what they were carrying, where they were bound and sometimes even knew the captain. His yard was his pride and joy as he would maintain and patrol his grounds on his faithful Cub Cadet. He loved hosting holiday gatherings and family functions and sharing time with his family and friends.
Ed is survived by his children; Jenny Terhune, Mark (Michelle) Terhune and Mike (Dawn) Terhune; grandchildren, Abby Terhune, Ryan Terhune, Jeff Robelli, Cassidy (Tony) Ellul, Brent and Brandon Garrett; great grandchildren, Caden Terhune, Addison and Autumn Ellul, Skyler Terhune, Jeffrey Jr., Julius and Maelani Robelli, Adalee and Bella Garrett and many nieces and nephews.
