Edward Steve Balok's Obituary
Edward Steve Balok went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 21, 2021, just three days after the passing of Wilma Lillian Balok, his wife of 60 years. Ed was born on June 20, 1933 at the family farm in Caro, Michigan. His twin brother, Robert, passed away at age 3. Ed was a graduate of Busch High School in Centerline, Michigan. He attended Wayne State University before entering the Army serving in Fort Hood, Texas in the 2nd Armored Division. After serving his country honorably, he joined the work force as an Insurance Agent. He soon married Lillian, the love of his life, on October 28, 1961. Always interested in real estate, he joined a small real estate firm where he perfected his craft of putting buyers and sellers together. Soon after, Ed started his own independent real estate company specializing in commercial and industrial properties throughout the state of Michigan. They raised five children together. During the course of those years, Ed enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, traveling, beekeeping, wood working, wine making, and home brewing. Ed was gentle and kind and loved by everyone who met him. He enjoyed fishing with anyone visiting him in Florida. When his grandkids were young a pirate treasure map would mysteriously wash up on shore sealed in a bottle and the search would be on. Of course an "X" would always mark the spot where golden doubloons were buried in the sand. Grandpa was always a favorite with his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Robert, sisters Lillian and Rosemary, and great-grandchild Silas. He is survived by five married children; Pamela (Preston), Michael (Amy), Gregory (Kimberly), David (Amy), and Kurt (Jill); and nine grandchildren: Katherine (Aaron), Ryan (Bailey), David, Brian, Nathan, Aaron, Elizabeth "Ellie", Nicholas, and Haley.
Private services have been conducted. Interment at Guardian Angel Cemetery, Rochester.
