Edmund "Ed" Baumgarten's Obituary
Edmund "Ed" Baumgarten, age 91, lifetime resident of Casco Twp. went to be with his Lord on Friday September 23, 2011.
He was born November 28, 1919 in Casco Twp. to the late Louis and Sophie Baumgarten.
Ed married Marjorie Kammer on October 22, 1949 in Casco Twp. She preceded him in death on January 6, 2006. Ed worked for Quality Feed and Supply in Marine City and retired from Foster Oil in Richmond. He was his wife's caregiver and assisted on his son's farm and loved watching the Detroit Tigers. He was a lifelong member of St. James United Church of Christ, Casco.
He is survived by his son; Wayne Baumgarten, brother in law and sisters in law; Clarence "Archie" and Gin Kammer and Ruth Kammer and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by brothers; Leonard, Russell, William and Warren Baumgarten and sister Esther Rehberg.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 27th at 11:00 a.m. at St. James United Church of Christ, Casco Twp. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Tuesday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to services. Memorials may be made to St. James UCC.
