Edmund F. Kielbasa's Obituary
Edmund F. Kielbasa, age 95, of China Twp., passed away at his home with his family at his side on April 18, 2018. He was born November 8, 1922 in Hamtramck to the late John and Angeline Kielbasa. On February 26, 1949 Edmund married Dolores Cwiklik in Detroit.
Edmund honorably served his country during World War II with the U.S. Navy on the LST-611, which was assigned to the Pacific Theater of Operations. Following the war he worked for Ford Motor Co., Utica Trim Plant for 25 years. During this time and after retirement he was also an avid beekeeper and farmer for over 50 years. Edmund was a former member of VFW Post 3901, Algonac and the American Legion Post 382, St. Clair.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dolores Kielbasa; daughter, Christine Quitter; grandchildren, John Wolgast, Harold (Jennifer) Gildenpfennig, Dawn Wolgast and Jim Schneider and great grandson, Vinnie Wolgast. Edmund was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie Gildenpfennig.
Funeral services will be Monday April 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
